BEHIND GLASS

I’m interested in the power of photography to transform an object. Through photography we are able to capture a moment of someone’s life a cross section, a snapshot of time. We can record a history document a life. In natural history museums glass bead eyed stuffed animals return to life after death.

Running wild they are trapped in the glass cases, then trapped through the lens and onto film, recording this fracture in time. A postmortem portrait to trap life forever. The images are in limbo stuck between life and death, and were behind the glass in conflict.
